There are a lot of things I didn't anticipate about parenthood, but the amount of fun that a bubble bath on a Saturday night can be is one of those things.
It was all smiles and giggles and fun. Not to mention the now legendary "poop cup" that Jack is proudly displaying. It's been through the dishwasher, but having your baby poop in the bathtub is quite a traumatizing event and one that Jack got to experience not too long ago. So he used the now off-limits for drinking- poop cup. It's funny... I'm so unbelievably grateful for bubble baths and poop cups. Like my friend Kayla once said, "Having a family has exceeded all of my expectations." Amen, sister!

Agreed!
Candace - I "lurked" your blog thru Jenn Walls, and it is so great! So I hope you don't mind! But I had to comment on this - luckily it's a rare event in our house, but when it has happened, we refer to the poop in the bathtub as a "CODE BROWN" incident!! So true...things that you never imagined yourself doing 10 years ago (like using a cup to fish something like human waste out of the bathtub) are just necessary parenting duties now! Thanks for the great blog entries! Sincerely, Jennifer (Rodman) DeFatta
so true my friend- except the one and only poop samuel has even done was too soft to gather with a cup! the whole tub had to be drained and then sprayed and wiped completely with bleach spray. John was none too happy about such a task, but really, what a wonderful husband for cleaning out the poop at all! Love to you all-

I freaked out the first time the girls pooped in the tub...they went through a month long stage where it happened multiple times. So far, we're clear with Sam, but I'm just waiting for the day!
A poop cup is a great idea! Much better than the rubber gloves I usually use! We love the Chaneys!!
okay, so i need to hear more about the poop cup. what exactly is this thing?
