we're His

I was thinking about how nice it would be to be all unencumbered and carefree like these little ones.

Play is their work and they work hard.

They don't know the extent of the world's sufferings and tragedies and the depth of the depravity of the world and isn't that kind of nice?

I remember it- those days.

But even though the years seem to have piled up on us, as believers adopted and chosen, we ARE children.  We're His.

And even in the midst of the pain and the suffering that this fallen world has to offer, that's a pretty safe and good place to be- His children, free to lean into the heart of the Father.

We are His kids.  Why worry?  He's got us.

And one Day, we'll be free of all of the suffering.  We'll be able to wear fun hats and boots in a boat with snacks on a renewed earth free from all the dangers and evil of this day and age.

I can't wait.

"For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory." Romans 8:14-17
