still got it

Jack and I have music in common.  It's our thing- what we like to do together.  We seek it out, listen, discover (he does most of the discovering), and we go to shows together as what we like to call our "recreational companionship."

But what I don't understand is why we usually have to travel for a good show.  In our backyard, we have one of the most amazing venues in the country- the Municipal Auditorium.  Built in the 1920's, she is an art deco treasure.  And not only is she pretty, she was hostess to the Louisiana Hayride beginning in the 1940's where Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley started their careers.  I don't get it.

Why doesn't EVERYONE want to play here?

We went with some friends last night to see Jack White and his band play at the Municipal Auditorium. Jack told a story from stage about how he had to dig his heels in and decide to skip Dallas and Memphis and New Orleans for the opportunity to play here.

Good for you, Jack White.

Why wouldn't you want to play here?

 Give me a break.

And give us a chance, music scene of all genres.

She's still got it.

I love this about you guys. And I love this about Shreveport. Hopefully someday, someone will come through while we are there. ;) That's not where Tomlin was, is it?
