happiness doubled by wonder

Our paper grocery bag thanks-giving tree may not be all that outwardly beautiful, but as an exercise and a concept, it has been gorgeous.  One more day in November equals five more leaves offered up, one by each member of this Chaney family.  Eucharisteo!

"Thanks isn't shallow Pollyanna-ism.  Didn't Chesterton suggest that? 'I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.'"  Voskamp
