happy seven

After his breakfast donut, our new seven-year-old got dressed, walked out the front door, spread his arms wide and just stood there for a good minute, presumably to feel the cool morning air but who knows. This kid just loves life.

And life is good at seven.

So Asher, my sweet birthday boy in your magic year,  I pray blessings over you- that you would always fling your arms out wide to take in all the beauty of life and also to give your life away in cruciform service to others- the real way to the good life, the happy and blessed life.

I love you so.

Happy seven.
