the everyday miraculous

Summer Kitchen
In June's high light she stood at the sink
      With a glass of wine,
And listened for the bobolink,
And crushed garlic in late sunshine.
I watched her cooking, from my chair.
     She pressed her lips
Together, reached for kitchenware,
And tasted sauce from her fingertips.
"It's ready now, Come on."  she said.
     "You light the candle."
We ate, and talked, and went to bed,
And slept.  It was a miracle.

good good good

Our best girl with her dry sense of humor and responsible sensibilities continues to love all things animal related.  We love her and it's interesting to say the least- watching her grow, this woman-child so layered and complex.

You can ask anyone in our family and they'll tell you- Zeke is the sweetest. He may constantly be thinking about the worst case scenario, but he'll keep us all safe and sound always looking out for us.  He's started making me coffee in the morning and I'm just saying... whatever lucky lady ends up at the altar looking into his eyes and saying "I do" is one blessed woman indeed.

And this little guy... just wow.  He's full to the brim with all the strong emotions and can go up and down in 5 seconds flat.  He's hilarious and wild hearted and he wanted to hold my hand while he did his homework last night and so he did just that for a full 10 minutes.

Sometimes I think my heart will explode with gratitude for these little humans.

Thank you, Lord, for these three good good good gifts.

I just can't imagine ever regretting the time and money we invested in these moments with our boys.  When I asked them what title we should use for our video, Zeke chimed in with "Colorado Primetime."  And it just couldn't be more fitting.

Prime time indeed and I am thankful.
